  With the new 2021 Envision, details make a difference.   Nine Standard Safety Features

  Buick has really raised the game with its new Driver Confidence Plus Package of standard safety features. The list is impressive, and it’s not just a few alerts to remind the driver to watch the road or wait to change lanes. This set of features adds driver-assisted features that will take measures to keep you safe if an accident seems imminent, but that’s not all; there are more features added to upper trims or as options that will make your life so much easier. Of course, these features are added on top of the passive safety features like airbags, traction and stability control, and seatbelt pretensioners.

  Alert Safety

  Many manufacturers offer up to six safety features in a standard suite, but Buick has decided safety is important enough to add more. Many features will look familiar to drivers of newer vehicles, like forward collision alert, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, and possibly even rear park assist. These features are the type that warn you an accident could happen, so the driver will pay closer attention and react if necessary.   Active Safety

  Automatic emergency braking will add more brake pressure if you suddenly depress the pedal, or it can apply brakes if the sensors detect an impending crash. Front pedestrian braking is a similar feature, though instead of objects, it detects the slower motion of a person crossing in front of you and will brake automatically. Automatic high beams will assist drivers on dark nights when you pass oncoming traffic; this feature automatically turns down your bright lights so you won’t have to think about it. Lane keep assist with lane departure warning will scan the roadway to indicate lane markings and will either brake or steer to keep you in your lane if you drift without signaling. Finally, the following distance indicator will warn you if you get too close to cars in front of you.
