History of GMC

From the very beginning, GMC has been an American made company and has become a household name with its many different trucks, SUVs, and more. GMC was founded back in 1911 by William Durant, and while the industry was both new and prosperous, GMC vehicles began appearing more frequently across the nation. Throughout the next several decades, GMC would continue its rise to prominence and make its way to many American families throughout the 1950s and 1960s. With decades of experience under its belt, along with popular vehicles such as the Suburban and trucks such as the Sierra, GMC was ready for a new millennium.

In the dawn of the 21st century, GMC wasn't short of competition as the automotive industry was an entirely different beast than it was during its inception. At this point, more manufacturers were producing automobiles that were slated to compete with GMC's offering, but to their dismay, GMC often came out on top. Vehicles like the Sierra would go on to continue a legacy of a powerful and reliable pickup truck, and newcomers such as the Canyon would also join the lineup and be met with critical acclaim. It was also around this time that the industry saw a substantial shift towards the popularity of SUVs and crossovers, and GMC was fully prepared with vehicles such as the Acadia. It would also create full-size SUVs such as the Yukon and Yukon XL to combine the usefulness of both an SUV and a truck.

The early and mid-2000s was an interesting time, and it seemed like every manufacturer believed they were creating the next big thing. However, when it came to vehicles that stood the test of time, it's not uncommon to see vehicles from this era on the road for years down the line. When a customer is in the market for a pickup truck but doesn't want to spend their life-savings on a shiny new vehicle, GMC trucks have continued to be the answer. Although there have been models from GMC that have ceased production, there are a plethora of available vehicles that stretch far and wide between versatility, reliability, and efficiency, and sometimes all three. With this robust history and over a century of research and development behind GMC's products, customers are always interested in what's next for GMC.

Additionally, our CPO vehicles include two warranties, one of which is an Extended Powertrain Limited Warranty that will last you for six years after you've purchased your vehicle or until you've driven up to 100,000 miles. The other warranty that comes with your CPO vehicle is an Extended Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty that will cover the first year of ownership or up to 12,000 miles on the odometer. These warranties, along with the thorough inspection, make CPO vehicles a very popular option and something you should consider.
